Claire Craig, Ph.D., M.F.T., founded Trinity Counseling Center in 1989 in Concord, CA. In 1994 it was recognized as a religious nonprofit corporation with the State of California and the IRS. In 2002 Trinity Counseling Center moved to Oakland, CA, to reach out to the community of Oakland and the East Bay. In 2016 Trinity Counseling Center relocated again to San Leandro under the direction of Lindsay Malcolm. A Christ-centered board of directors governs its affairs.
After working as a therapist for over twenty years, Dr. Craig retired in 2011 and moved with her husband Chuck to the mission field - initially in the Middle East where they started working with street children. Since then they have supported children in Ethiopia and Sierra Leone where they currently reside. Both Claire and Chuck have a strong desire to help care for children in impoverished parts of the world and help the poor on the path to self-sufficiency by teaching them a trade. They support themselves and the children by receiving donations through the nonprofit, 501(c)3, Friends of Street Children of the World. To find out more you may follow their exploits at Chuck's blog
